About The Role
Boeing is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer / Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to join our Phantom Works Weapons team in St. Charles, MO, within the St. Louis area. This pivotal role involves supporting advanced weapons programs, including the Next Generation Cruise Missile project. As part of this team, you will engage in high-impact projects that require interdisciplinary collaboration, systems thinking, and innovative technical solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation defense capabilities, working on complex software systems that demand precision, security, and reliability. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Program Access, reflecting the sensitive nature of our work.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have a strong educational background, typically a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, data science, physics, chemistry, or related fields. For experienced or senior roles, a minimum of 3 to 17+ years of relevant work experience is required, depending on the level. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and C#, along with extensive experience in Linux development, version control systems like Git, and software architecture development. Knowledge of network architectures, especially TCP/UDP communication protocols, is essential. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required, and familiarity with software development processes, testing methodologies, and safety standards is highly desirable. Candidates should also possess strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a passion for innovation.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software throughout the entire lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulatory standards.
Analyze customer requirements and translate them into initial software design concepts.
Develop interface definitions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support software system integration efforts.
Participate in peer reviews to uphold quality standards and best practices.
Create comprehensive software documentation to facilitate future maintenance and upgrades.
Support software validation, verification, and troubleshooting activities to ensure system performance and reliability.
