2. About the Opportunity:
The Application Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining application solutions that meet the needs of various business departments within the organization. This role translates software requirements into effective technical solutions, adapts and integrates off-the-shelf software into the existing architecture, and ensures ongoing support for business applications. The position supports critical business strategies by collaborating with stakeholders and external vendors, contributing to system enhancements, and troubleshooting production issues.
3. Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify system enhancement opportunities
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Develop, review, and modify programs using JHA Symitar PowerOn programming language
Work with third-party vendors to implement, maintain, and support software and hardware integrations
Follow software development life cycle (SDLC) procedures to deliver application solutions
Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices
Troubleshoot and resolve production application issues or escalate as needed
4. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
Proficiency in one or more programming languages used in enterprise financial platforms
Minimum of two years’ experience developing and supporting business applications in a financial institution
Knowledge of architecture/systems engineering best practices, software design, and programming principles
Experience in at least one area: Retail Operations, Lending Operations, or Financial Backoffice Operations
Preferred:
Four years’ experience with financial institution technologies such as FIS, Fiserv, Jack Henry Symitar, or similar
Hands-on experience with Jack Henry Symitar programming (PowerOn/RepGen), SQL, HTML, and JavaScript
Ability to program in languages such as C#, Java, PHP, COBOL, RPG, HTML, or JavaScript
Familiarity with Unix operating system, shell scripting, Python, or similar tools
Knowledge of scripting languages including PowerShell and Bash
Experience with iterative project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
ITIL certification or experience working within an ITIL framework
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The position offers a salary range between $77,618.50 and $97,023.13, plus an annual bonus
Actual compensation will depend on experience, role tenure, peer salaries, performance, business sector, licensure, and skill level
