Security Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!
The Role
Responsible for end-to-end security architecture, including reference architectures, security patterns, threat models, and guard rails, ensuring consistent application across desktop and cloud product lines.
Drives comprehensive vulnerability management across desktop and cloud applications – triage, prioritization, remediation, and verification – in collaboration with product teams, CISO organization, and CERT.
Addresses architectural trends instead of just patching individual issues.
Integrates security deeply into automated development processes (SAST, DAST, SCA, Secret Scanning, IaC, Container Scanning) within GitLab CI with clear quality gates, ownership, and AI-powered workflows.
What You'll Need
Several years of experience in Security Engineering or Security Architecture with a proven track record in developing and implementing security measures in complex product landscapes.
Completed degree in Computer Science, IT Security, Software Engineering, or a comparable technical field with excellent academic performance.
Deep expertise in application security, cloud security, and Secure SDLC, as well as practical experience embedding security tooling (SAST/DAST/SCA, IaC and container scanning, secret scans) into CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with healthcare regulations (e.g., Medical Device Regulation) and distributed legacy and cloud-native landscapes.
Proven effective use of AI in security workflows, preferably with Claude Code or similar agentic tools, and experience in designing AI pipelines, harnesses, and context engineering for code analysis, threat modeling, vulnerability triage, and detection engineering.
Fluent in German and English, strong problem-solving skills, innovation, high proactivity, a strong entrepreneurial mindset, and clear alignment with healthcare purpose and patient safety responsibility.
