I. Position Overview
The Executive Vice President (EVP) of Marketing Operations is responsible for leading the company's marketing operations ecosystem and building marketing execution capabilities, translating corporate marketing strategies into measurable, actionable marketing operational plans.
This role oversees marketing processes, budgets, data and analytics, marketing technology (MarTech), campaign operations, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration. The EVP works closely with the CMO, as well as sales, product, finance, and business teams, to enhance the efficiency of marketing resource allocation, standardize operations, and maximize the commercial impact of marketing activities.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing Operations Strategy
Formulate the company's marketing operations strategy and annual operational plans.
Translate corporate marketing strategies into specific operational processes, projects, and performance targets.
Establish unified standards, management mechanisms, and execution frameworks for marketing operations.
Continuously optimize the marketing operations model based on business development stages.
2. Marketing Planning and Campaign Operations
Oversee the planning, execution, and post-campaign review of annual and quarterly marketing campaigns.
Coordinate teams across brand, digital marketing, content, product marketing, and regional marketing.
Establish processes for campaign project management, approval, resource allocation, and performance evaluation.
Ensure major marketing activities are completed according to schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
3. Marketing Data and Performance Analysis
Build a marketing operations data system and define key performance indicators (KPIs).
Analyze marketing investment, customer acquisition costs (CAC), lead quality, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution.
Establish mechanisms for analyzing marketing ROI and campaign performance.
Provide management with insights on marketing operational trends and recommendations for resource allocation.
4. Marketing Budget and Resource Management
Participate in formulating the marketing department's annual budget and resource plans.
Monitor budget execution and conduct cost and variance analysis.
Optimize resource allocation based on campaign performance and business priorities.
Collaborate with the finance team to evaluate marketing investments against commercial returns.
5. Marketing Technology and Operational Processes
Lead the development and continuous optimization of the marketing technology (MarTech) ecosystem.
Drive the effective use of CRM, marketing automation, data analytics, and campaign management tools.
Optimize lead management, data management, and cross-departmental workflows.
Promote marketing operations automation to enhance team execution efficiency.
6. Marketing and Sales Alignment
Establish standardized collaboration mechanisms with sales, business development, and customer success teams. Optimize the marketing-to-sales process and lead handoff mechanisms.
Establish a tracking system for marketing lead quality, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution.
Coordinate and resolve issues regarding data, processes, and execution between marketing and sales teams.
7. Operational Governance and Process Optimization
Establish policies, processes, approval workflows, and performance management mechanisms for marketing operations.
Identify efficiency bottlenecks and operational risks in marketing execution.
Drive the standardization of marketing projects, the digitization of processes, and continuous improvement.
Implement mechanisms for regular operational reviews and management reporting.
8. Team Leadership and Organizational Development
Lead the marketing operations team; define departmental goals and organizational development plans.
Manage teams responsible for marketing operations, marketing analytics, MarTech, and campaign operations.
Cultivate senior talent in marketing operations management and data analysis.
Optimize organizational structure, role allocation, and workflows based on the company's business scale.
III. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business Management, Data Analysis, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Typically requires 20+ years of experience in marketing, marketing operations, business operations, or related fields.
Possesses 8+ years of experience in senior management and leading large-scale marketing operations teams.
Experience in building and managing enterprise-level marketing operations systems.
Familiarity with marketing budgets, campaign management, marketing data analysis, and performance management.
Strong capabilities in business analysis, project management, and process optimization.
Ability to collaborate effectively with the CMO, CEO, and other senior executives.
Excellent communication, organizational coordination, and team leadership skills.
