1. About Our Client:
This organization is an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business providing acquisition and program/project management support along with professional training services to federal agencies nationwide. It serves a diverse set of federal acquisition programs including those of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), General Services Administration (GSA), and Department of Veterans Affairs. The team offers experienced acquisition professionals capable of remote work and rapid onboarding to meet federal contracting needs.
2. About the Opportunity:
The Contract Specialist II role provides comprehensive acquisition support to the CDC Office of Acquisition Services. This position manages the entire procurement lifecycle to ensure timely and compliant execution of contracts that support workplace safety, security modernization, and public health initiatives. The role is critical in maintaining adherence to federal acquisition regulations and contributing to the effectiveness of public health procurement efforts.
3. Responsibilities:
Deliver pre-award support including procurement history, market research, and acquisition planning.
Attend meetings with program offices and respond to data requests.
Develop and revise solicitation documents for review.
Prepare and post solicitation notices through appropriate government channels.
Support small business program requirements and related documentation.
Facilitate evaluation discussions and assist with scoring and documentation.
Prepare business and pricing analyses and support negotiation processes.
Draft award documents and notifications, and complete procurement data reporting.
Conduct post-award contract modifications and administrative maintenance.
Provide contract administration advice and attend post-award meetings.
Maintain audit-ready contract files per documentation requirements.
Complete required training and utilize acquisition systems effectively.
4. Requirements:
Bachelor''s degree.
Minimum five years of cradle-to-grave contracting experience.
Current or previous FAC-C Certification, or civilian equivalent.
Strong knowledge of the FAR and full procurement lifecycle.
Proficient written communication skills for drafting acquisition documents.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Preferred:
Experience supporting HHS acquisition programs, preferably CDC or NIH.
Experience with the Integrated Contract Expert (ICE) system.
Background in public health, scientific research, occupational safety, or workplace security acquisitions.
Familiarity with SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, and government-wide acquisition systems.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Salary range: $50,000 - $75,000.
