2. About the Opportunity:
The Digital Infrastructure Design Manager leads the planning, design, and delivery of digital infrastructure projects, focusing on submarine cable landing stations, terrestrial networks, and hyperscale data centers. This role oversees multidisciplinary teams, coordinates technical aspects, and manages client relationships to ensure project success. It plays a key role in advancing digital connectivity infrastructure for a variety of clients, contributing to the organization’s global impact in telecommunications and digital infrastructure.
3. Responsibilities:
Lead planning, design, and delivery of digital infrastructure projects from site selection through completion.
Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, security, environmental, and permitting disciplines.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk throughout all phases.
Act as primary contact for clients, stakeholders, and project partners.
Support site due diligence, feasibility studies, and infrastructure planning.
Lead design coordination for cable landing stations, fiber routes, network facilities, and related infrastructure.
Coordinate utility, power, security, and operational requirements for mission-critical communications facilities.
Facilitate design workshops, technical reviews, and interdisciplinary meetings.
Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for project success.
Review design deliverables to ensure compliance with requirements and quality standards.
Support construction administration including RFIs, submittals, field coordination, and commissioning.
Contribute to proposal development and business growth efforts.
Develop and maintain client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services.
Mentor junior staff and support practice growth.
4. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Architecture, Construction Management, Information Technology, or related field plus 8 years relevant experience or equivalent.
Preferred certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE).
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering/design teams.
Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Experience with telecommunications, digital infrastructure, fiber networks, mission-critical facilities, cable landing stations, broadband, carrier or network infrastructure, and data center projects.
Knowledge of submarine cable systems, terrestrial backhaul networks, dark fiber, or carrier-neutral facilities.
Familiarity with international telecommunications infrastructure projects.
Understanding of telecommunications facility design, network resiliency, permitting, utility coordination, and environmental review.
Proficiency with BIM/Revit, Bluebeam, fiber network planning tools, Civil3-D, or related design software.
Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environments.
Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
