Senior Cloud Architect (Network & SRE)

2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior Cloud Architect (Network & SRE) is a senior technical role responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the global network architecture on Google Cloud Platform. This position ensures high availability, performance, and security across distributed systems by bridging cloud networking and site reliability engineering disciplines. The role works closely with reliability and platform teams to optimize network performance and reliability as a critical part of the infrastructure strategy.
3. Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage scalable GCP network architectures including VPCs, Interconnects, Load Balancing, and DNS
Implement Infrastructure as Code for networking components using Terraform
Collaborate with SRE teams to resolve connectivity, latency, and performance issues
Manage network security policies such as firewall rules, VPC Service Controls, and IAM roles
Optimize cloud networking costs through traffic analysis and architecture improvements
Apply reliability engineering principles in the network domain including capacity planning and monitoring
Support engineering teams to onboard services meeting networking and reliability standards
4. Requirements:
Minimum 10 years experience in Cloud Architecture, Network Engineering, or SRE/DevOps
Expertise in GCP networking components including VPC, Cloud Interconnect, and Load Balancing
Proficiency with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
Residency in the United States
Experience with scripting languages like Python, Go, or Bash
Strong knowledge of distributed systems, Linux/network troubleshooting, and observability
Ability to lead technical strategies and collaborate across teams
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Salary range between $150,000 and $160,000 USD, with final compensation based on location, skills, experience, education, and certifications
