Cyber Security Analyst I

The organization is a Security and IT Managed Services Provider focused on delivering cybersecurity services to the Defense Industrial Base. It addresses the challenge of redundant security practices by integrating compliance and threat mitigation efforts to enhance security postures. The company advises clients on optimizing security investments to improve overall protection.
2. About the Opportunity:
The Cyber Security Analyst I supports proactive monitoring of client environments to detect, analyze, and mitigate external threats using security information and event management systems and other tools. This role is critical in identifying risks, coordinating incident responses, and enhancing security processes to protect client assets.
3. Responsibilities:
Analyze and investigate security alerts and potential incidents in customer environments
Document and report findings thoroughly and promptly
Coordinate incident responses requiring urgent action
Maintain detailed investigative notes for all alerts and incidents
Provide feedback for process improvements and customer satisfaction
Stay current with security training, certifications, and emerging threats
Escalate investigations appropriately when necessary
Complete and communicate shift-change documentation effectively
Follow standard operating procedures and escalation protocols
Offer constructive security consultation during client communications
4. Requirements:
0-3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center environment
Basic understanding of query languages
General knowledge of programming operations
Experience or education in system networking
Working knowledge of Office 365
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
U.S. Citizenship and residence within the United States or its Territories
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or equivalent
Experience with Sumo Logic, Defender, Google Chronicle, or Azure Sentinel
Industry security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or GSEC
Knowledge of SOAR/SIEM solutions
Strong organizational and analytical skills
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Budgeted pay range $60,000—$83,000 USD
