Role Description The AWS DevOps Engineer role at eShipz is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Bengaluru Area (Hebbal), focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS. The engineer will manage CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and optimize environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Daily responsibilities include working with Infrastructure as Code tools, configuring and monitoring Linux-based systems, and collaborating with development teams to ensure smooth integration and reliable releases. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, improving observability and security, and contributing to best practices in DevOps processes and documentation. With approximately three years of experience, the engineer will help drive continuous improvement of eShipz’s logistics automation platform.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills, using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to manage and automate cloud resources.
Candidates should possess solid Software Development skills in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash, or Node.js) to build automation and tooling.
Candidates should possess experience with Continuous Integration and delivery pipelines, using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar solutions.
Candidates should possess System Administration skills, including managing, securing, and monitoring Linux servers in production environments.
Candidates should possess strong Linux fundamentals, including networking, shell scripting, and performance troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with core AWS services (e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM) and implementing secure, scalable architectures.
Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch) for production systems.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an on-site environment.
