Role Description The Java Software System Engineer is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based software systems and services. In this position, the engineer will implement and optimize microservices, integrate them within existing architectures, and ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, efficient code in Java, leveraging the Spring Framework for application development, conducting code reviews, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on solution design. The engineer will also participate in system documentation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to robust, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Software Development and Programming, with a focus on designing and implementing robust applications.
Hands-on experience with Java and the Spring Framework for building and maintaining enterprise-level systems.
Knowledge and practical experience with Microservices architecture, including service design, integration, and deployment.
Understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), testing, debugging, and code review.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, containerization (e.g., Docker), and cloud platforms is beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
Interest in continuous learning and staying current with modern Java frameworks, tools, and architectural patterns.
