Technical Manager

Role Description The Technical Manager role at BAG Ventures is a part-time, remote position responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight across portfolio companies and internal initiatives. In this role, the Technical Manager will evaluate the technical architecture and scalability of AI-driven products, advise founders on best practices in infrastructure, security, and DevOps, and help identify risks and opportunities in emerging technologies. The person in this role will collaborate with investment and operations teams to review technical due diligence, support R&D roadmaps, and ensure that project milestones and deliverables are met. Day-to-day activities include coordinating with cross-functional teams, resolving technical issues, managing timelines for technical projects, and contributing to the continuous improvement of BAG Ventures’ processes and tools that support founders.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and the ability to interpret technical and business data to support investment and product decisions.
Candidates should possess Team Management and Project Management skills to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, guide technical teams, and ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
Candidates should possess Technical Support and R&D experience to troubleshoot complex issues, inform product roadmaps, and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to AI and enterprise software.
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of AI, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps practices, and B2B SaaS ecosystems.
Relevant experience as a technical lead, engineering manager, or similar role in startup or enterprise environments is beneficial.
Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Comfort working remotely across time zones and collaborating with diverse teams and founders.
