IT application operation specialist

Role Description The IT Application Operation Specialist role at BAG Ventures is a part-time, remote position responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of core business applications used across the firm and its portfolio. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring application health, responding to incidents, and providing technical support to internal users and stakeholders. The specialist will diagnose and resolve application issues, coordinate with vendors or development teams for fixes and enhancements, and maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and known issues. The role also involves analyzing business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, supporting application onboarding and updates, and contributing to the implementation of best practices for security, scalability, and continuity. Collaboration with investment, operations, and portfolio support teams is expected to align application capabilities with evolving business needs.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, troubleshoot complex issues, and recommend improvements to application performance and business processes.
Candidates should possess Application Support experience, including incident management, configuration, monitoring, and coordination with vendors or development teams for resolution.
Candidates should possess foundational Information Technology knowledge, covering application architectures, networking basics, security principles, and cloud-based environments.
Candidates should possess Technical Support capabilities, including user support, issue tracking, documentation, and clear communication of technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
Candidates should possess Business Process understanding to map workflows, identify inefficiencies, and suggest technology-driven enhancements aligned with operational goals.
Experience with SaaS applications, ticketing systems, and monitoring tools is beneficial.
Familiarity with AI, cybersecurity, DevOps, or startup environments is an advantage.
Relevant education or certifications in IT, computer science, information systems, or related fields are preferred but not strictly required.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities in a part-time schedule, and maintain a high level of reliability and attention to detail.
