Role Description The Technical Management Director is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing technical strategy and execution across BAG Ventures’ portfolio and internal initiatives. This role includes leading and mentoring technical teams, aligning engineering efforts with product and business goals, and guiding founders on scalable architectures and best practices. The Technical Management Director will coordinate research and development activities, evaluate emerging technologies in AI and enterprise software, and support due diligence on potential investments from a technical perspective. Day-to-day responsibilities involve managing software development roadmaps, monitoring project progress, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions, and fostering collaboration between product, engineering, and investment teams. The role also includes developing frameworks and standards that support portfolio companies in cybersecurity, DevOps, vertical applications, and B2B SaaS.
Qualifications
Team Management and Team Leadership skills to guide, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams and collaborate effectively with founders.
Research and Development (R&D) experience to evaluate emerging AI and enterprise technologies and translate insights into practical innovation strategies.
Software Development expertise to oversee technical architectures, code quality, and development processes across multiple projects or portfolio companies.
Project Management skills to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex technical initiatives on time and within scope in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in leading technical organizations or large engineering teams, preferably within AI, SaaS, or enterprise software domains.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities to work with founders, investors, and cross-functional partners remotely.
Familiarity with cybersecurity, DevOps practices, or B2B SaaS platforms is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
