Electrical Design Engineer plans, develops, and documents electrical systems, power distribution networks, and control panels to ensure they are safe, buildable, and compliant with industry regulations.
Core Responsibilities
• Schematic & Layout Design: Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and cable tray/earthing layouts.• Calculations & Simulations: Perform electrical calculations including short-circuit analysis, voltage drop, load flow, cable sizing, and lighting simulations.• Documentation & BOMs: Generate bills of materials (BOMs), equipment data sheets, cable schedules, and technical reports.• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside mechanical, civil, firmware, and commissioning teams to integrate electrical systems into larger projects (such as buildings, manufacturing lines, or gas turbines).• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs follow relevant safety and regional codes (such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, or local building/IS standards).• Testing & Troubleshooting: Support prototype evaluations, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site installation, and root-cause analysis for field issues.
