About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team at Version 1. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications that meet complex business requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Java development, extensive experience working with AWS cloud services, and a solid understanding of database management and batch processing systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the technological growth of the organization. The Senior Java Developer will also play a vital role in mentoring junior team members and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7+ years of proven experience as a Java Developer in product development or service environments is required. Candidates must demonstrate at least 3+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Event Bus. Extensive experience—minimum 5+ years—with relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is essential, including skills in writing complex SQL queries and troubleshooting performance issues. Technical proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful API development is mandatory. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with batch processing frameworks and tools, as well as a minimum of 2 years of Python experience. Additionally, the role requires an SC clearance to be considered eligible.
Responsibilities
Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient Java applications tailored to meet business needs and technical specifications.
Utilize AWS services to build, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Design, implement, and optimize database schemas, write complex SQL queries, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in relational databases.
Develop and manage batch processing systems capable of handling large volumes of data efficiently and reliably.
Ensure high code quality through rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA engineers, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software solutions on time.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issues, bugs, and other technical challenges to ensure seamless application operation.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence.
