About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer / Network Lead (L2+) to join our client's team in Malad / Goregaon, Mumbai. This role is pivotal in managing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites, ensuring seamless connectivity, security, and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network operations, troubleshooting, and configuration, with the ability to handle complex network environments involving LAN, WAN, WLAN, Security, SD-WAN, and Cloud connectivity.
The Network Lead will act as a technical expert and escalation point for network incidents, providing advanced support and ensuring adherence to service level agreements. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring, incident management, change implementation, and stakeholder coordination to maintain optimal network performance and security.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto Certifications, Aruba Certifications, or ITIL Foundation are highly desirable. Candidates should have a minimum of 8+ years of experience in enterprise networking environments, with hands-on expertise in routing, switching, security, wireless, and network management tools. Experience supporting multi-site networks, data centers, cloud connectivity, and managed services environments will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
Network Operations & Support
Provide L2/L2+ operational support for enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, Internet, VPN, Firewall, Proxy, Load Balancers, DNS/DHCP, routing, switching, and remote access environments.
Manage network incidents from identification through resolution, ensuring SLA compliance.
Act as an escalation point for Service Desk, NOC, and Operations teams.
Perform advanced troubleshooting of routing, switching, latency, packet loss, bandwidth congestion, link flapping, and connectivity issues.
Network Configuration & Administration
Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP, EtherChannel, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and ACLs.
Support MPLS, SD-WAN, leased lines, internet circuits, broadband, and data center connectivity.
Security & Firewall Management
Manage and troubleshoot firewall, VPN, and security-related connectivity issues.
Support firewall rule implementation, validation, and security policy compliance.
Troubleshoot IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, NAT, ACLs, and access control issues.
Wireless Infrastructure Support
Support enterprise wireless LAN deployments, troubleshoot access points, wireless controllers, and WLAN authentication issues.
Coordinate Wi-Fi deployment, site surveys, and coverage/performance optimization.
Monitoring & Performance Management
Monitor network health using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Zabbix.
Analyze bandwidth utilization, device health, interface performance, and capacity trends.
Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Change & Incident Management
Execute network changes following ITIL processes, including MOP, risk assessments, rollback plans, and validation.
Participate in major incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
Documentation & Governance
Maintain accurate network diagrams, IP records, device inventories, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
Prepare operational reports, dashboards, and participate in governance meetings.
