Role Description The Compositor at FilmArc Studios is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Vijayawada District. In this position, the compositor is responsible for integrating live-action footage, computer-generated elements, matte paintings, and effects into cohesive final shots. Daily tasks include working with layers and render passes, refining lighting and color, adding and adjusting visual effects, and ensuring seamless blends between CG and live-action elements. The role involves close collaboration with the VFX, animation, and editorial teams to interpret creative briefs, maintain visual continuity, and meet production deadlines. The compositor is expected to follow studio pipelines, manage shot versions, and proactively address technical and artistic challenges to deliver production-ready frames.
Qualifications
Strong compositing skills, including experience integrating Live Action, Computer Graphics, and Animation elements into final shots.
Proficiency in Lighting fundamentals as they apply to CG and compositing, with the ability to match and enhance on-set lighting.
Solid understanding of Computer Graphics workflows and tools used in VFX and post-production pipelines.
Experience working with Live Action footage, including green screen, plate cleanup, and set extensions.
Knowledge of Animation principles and how animated elements interact with live-action and CG environments.
Hands-on experience with industry-standard compositing software (e.g., Nuke, After Effects, Fusion) and related VFX tools.
Strong sense of color, composition, and visual storytelling, with attention to detail and consistency across shots.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, manage time well, and work on-site in a fast-paced production environment.
Relevant education in Visual Effects, Animation, Film, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
