Senior Backend Developer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 5-7 years of experience to design and build scalable backend systems using NestJS and RESTful APIs. This role focuses on handling complex data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, and curation, to power real-time charts and analytical dashboards. The ideal candidate combines strong backend architecture skills with data processing expertise and a performance-first mindset.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using NestJS.
Build robust RESTful APIs to support real-time dashboards and analytics platforms.
Implement data ingestion, transformation, validation, and curation pipelines.
Optimise backend performance, latency, and scalability for high-volume data processing.
Architect systems that support real-time charting and data visualisation needs.
Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to define and deliver data-driven features.
Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and best engineering practices.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot production issues.
Requirements:
5-7 years of backend development experience.
Strong proficiency in Node.js and NestJS.
Solid experience designing RESTful APIs and scalable backend architectures.
Hands-on experience with data processing, transformation, and pipeline design.
Strong understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and query optimisation.
Experience working with real-time or near-real-time systems.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Experience building analytics or reporting platforms.
Exposure to streaming or event-driven architectures.
Familiarity with caching strategies and performance tuning.
Experience with cloud platforms and containerization.
Knowledge of charting or visualisation data structures.
