Role Description The SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) role at EgoTECHworld is a full-time, remote position focused on building robust automated testing solutions for web and backend applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks, writing and executing automated test cases, and collaborating closely with developers and product teams to ensure software quality throughout the development lifecycle. The SDET will review technical specifications, identify test scenarios, perform code reviews related to testability, and help integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines. This role also involves monitoring test results, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of testing practices and tools.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience writing clean, maintainable code in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns, applied to building test automation frameworks and reusable components.
Experience with Back-End Web Development, RESTful APIs, and related testing approaches (e.g., API testing, integration testing).
Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, or similar).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git), including integrating automated tests into build processes.
Understanding of software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate using online communication tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in Agile or Scrum environments and a strong focus on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
