Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Edtech is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The CTO will define and execute the overall technology vision and roadmap, aligning platforms and tools with BookEinstein’s educational and business objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing software development activities, guiding product and platform architecture, and ensuring robust, scalable, and secure technology systems. The role involves leading cross-functional project teams, collaborating with product, academic, and operations stakeholders, and prioritizing technology initiatives that enhance learning experiences and operational efficiency. The CTO will also manage vendor relationships, mentor the engineering team, set best practices for quality and delivery, and stay current with emerging edtech trends to maintain a competitive and innovative technology stack.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Software Development and Product Development, with experience building and scaling customer-facing platforms or digital learning solutions.
Proficiency in IT Strategy and Architecture, including designing secure, scalable, and maintainable systems for web and mobile applications.
Proven Project Management abilities, leading cross-functional technology initiatives from concept through deployment and iteration.
Experience setting up engineering processes, code quality standards, and DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD, testing, monitoring) is highly beneficial.
Background in edtech or education-focused products is advantageous, with an understanding of learner-centric design and data privacy requirements.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, coaching, and creating an inclusive, collaborative engineering culture.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business and educational outcomes.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
