Role Description The Senior Data Scientist (contract, remote) role focuses on designing, implementing, and validating data-driven solutions that enhance AI capabilities within modernized legacy platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include exploring and preparing data from complex enterprise systems, building and evaluating statistical and machine learning models, and creating clear visualizations and dashboards for technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Senior Data Scientist collaborates closely with engineers, architects, and product teams to translate business requirements from regulated industries into measurable data science outcomes. The role also involves documenting methodologies, contributing to data strategy and experimentation frameworks, and ensuring models align with performance, security, and compliance expectations across client engagements.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Data Science and Statistics, with experience designing experiments, building models, and validating results.
Proficiency in Data Analysis and Data Analytics for extracting insights, identifying trends, and supporting decision-making in complex environments.
Ability to create effective Data Visualization outputs to communicate findings and model performance to technical and business stakeholders.
Hands-on experience with Python or R, common data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch), and SQL or similar query languages.
Background in working with legacy enterprise systems, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and modern data pipelines is highly beneficial.
Experience in regulated domains such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, or logistics, with awareness of compliance and security considerations.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently in a remote, contract setting, and effective written and verbal communication.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
