Role Description The Senior DevOps Engineer contract role is a remote position responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining modern CI/CD pipelines to support the modernization of legacy systems and AI-enabled solutions. Day-to-day work includes building and managing infrastructure as code, optimizing cloud and on-premises environments, and collaborating closely with software development teams to automate build, test, and deployment workflows. The person in this role will monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and enhance reliability, security, and scalability of platforms used by regulated clients in finance, healthcare, insurance, and logistics. The Senior DevOps Engineer will also contribute to operational best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing across teams.
Qualifications
Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills, including experience with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar solutions.
Hands-on Software Development and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to integrate automation throughout the delivery pipeline.
Expertise in Continuous Integration and delivery practices, including setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
Solid System Administration experience, with a focus on server configuration, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting in production environments.
Advanced Linux skills, including shell usage, package management, security hardening, and performance tuning.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization/orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Background in supporting regulated environments (e.g., financial services or healthcare) and familiarity with security and compliance best practices.
