Role Description The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will perform day-to-day activities focused on ensuring the reliability, functionality, and performance of software solutions delivered to regulated industries. Responsibilities include designing and executing test cases, conducting manual testing across various environments, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating closely with developers and product teams to resolve issues. The role involves reviewing requirements and specifications for testability, participating in quality reviews, and contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and documentation. The engineer will also support regression testing, integration testing, and release validation for legacy modernization and AI-enabled features. This is a contract, remote role that requires effective communication, self-management, and proactive coordination across distributed teams.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Quality, Quality Assurance, and Software Quality Assurance, with experience defining and applying quality standards and metrics.
Candidates should possess hands-on Manual Testing skills, including test case design, execution, defect tracking, and regression testing across web and API-based applications.
Candidates should possess foundational Software Development skills to understand architectures, read code when necessary, and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is highly beneficial.
Knowledge of testing in regulated domains such as FinTech, Banking, Insurance, HealthTech, or Logistics, including basic understanding of compliance and security considerations, is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, detail-oriented approach, and clear written and verbal communication skills are required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
