Role Description The Data Science Intern will support data-driven projects by assisting with data collection, cleaning, and preparation for analysis in a remote, contract role. Day-to-day tasks include performing exploratory data analysis, applying basic statistical techniques, and helping build and evaluate predictive models under the guidance of senior team members. The intern will collaborate with engineers and analysts to derive insights from structured and unstructured data relevant to sectors such as FinTech, Insurance, and HealthTech. Additional responsibilities may include preparing reports, visualizations, and presentations that communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as documenting workflows and methodologies to ensure reproducibility.
Qualifications
Strong Analytical Skills and problem-solving abilities for interpreting complex datasets.
Foundational knowledge of Statistics, including probability, hypothesis testing, and regression concepts.
Understanding of core Data Science principles, such as modeling, feature engineering, and evaluation metrics.
Experience or coursework in Data Analysis and Data Analytics, including use of tools like Python, R, or SQL.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn) is beneficial.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate across distributed teams.
Interest in regulated industries such as FinTech, Insurance, HealthTech, or Logistics is a plus.
