Role Description The Fraud Analyst contract role is a remote position responsible for reviewing transactions and account activities to identify, investigate, and mitigate potential fraud across client platforms. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring dashboards and alerts, analyzing patterns and anomalies, and performing detailed case reviews on suspicious activities, including chargebacks and disputed transactions. The Fraud Analyst will document findings, prepare clear reports for internal and client stakeholders, and recommend preventative measures and process improvements to reduce fraud exposure. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, operations, and customer support, to refine fraud rules, support investigations, and ensure timely resolution of cases while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Qualifications
Strong fraud prevention and fraud analysis skills, with experience identifying patterns, anomalies, and emerging fraud trends.
Excellent analytical skills, including data interpretation, root-cause analysis, and evidence-based decision-making.
Knowledge of chargebacks, dispute management processes, and payment industry workflows.
Clear and professional communication skills for documenting investigations, creating reports, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with fraud monitoring tools, transaction analysis platforms, or risk management systems.
Familiarity with FinTech, banking, payments, or other regulated industries is highly beneficial.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, statistics, computer science, criminal justice, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations in fraud risk management (e.g., PCI, ISO standards) is a plus.
