Role Description The Senior Data Scientist will play a key role in shaping data-driven decision-making and product development at Future of Nation. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Mumbai, with flexibility for some work-from-home days. Responsibilities include designing and implementing advanced analytical models, conducting exploratory and predictive analyses on learner and platform data, and developing dashboards and visualizations to support business, academic, and product teams. The Senior Data Scientist will collaborate with educators, engineers, and leadership to evaluate learning outcomes, optimize user journeys, and identify opportunities for new programs and features. The role also involves mentoring junior data professionals, establishing best practices for data governance, and communicating insights in clear, actionable terms to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Data Science and Statistics, with experience applying statistical and machine learning methods to real-world problems.
Proficiency in Data Analytics and Data Analysis, including cleaning, transforming, and interpreting complex datasets for decision-making.
Hands-on expertise in Data Visualization, using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python/R visualization libraries to build clear, insightful dashboards.
Advanced skills in Python or R, including experience with libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, and visualization frameworks.
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, SQL, and modern data warehousing or data lake solutions.
Background in experimental design, A/B testing, and measuring the impact of interventions on user engagement and learning outcomes.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.
Ability to communicate complex analytical findings in clear, inclusive language to diverse stakeholders and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
Prior experience in edtech, learning analytics, or social-impact organizations is an advantage.
