Job Description
North 40 Outfitters Home Office in Great Falls, MT is looking to hire a Full-Time Distribution Manager to join our team. We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company, and we are looking for authentic and enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self.
As the Distribution Manager at North 40, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, leadership, and execution of our distribution and logistics operations. You will oversee the movement of products through our distribution network, helping ensure our stores and customers receive the products they need accurately, efficiently, and on time. This role will lead distribution and logistics teams, optimize processes, manage vendor and transportation relationships, and identify opportunities to improve service, productivity, and cost efficiency.

Proven experience managing distribution, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations, including experience in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, distribution processes, inventory control, and transportation operations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities and make informed decisions.
Experience developing and implementing operational strategies that improve efficiency, productivity, service levels, and cost control.
Experience managing budgets, analyzing financial performance, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Experience managing relationships with vendors, suppliers, transportation providers, and third-party logistics partners.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective vendor and business relationships.
Experience with inventory management systems and practices, with a focus on maintaining appropriate inventory levels and minimizing stockouts and overstock.
Proficiency with logistics, distribution, inventory, and supply chain management software and systems.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry practices related to distribution and logistics operations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, leadership, vendors, and other business partners.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strategic thinker with the ability to connect day-to-day operations to broader organizational goals.
Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and effectively address unexpected operational challenges.
Adaptable, coachable, and team-focused with a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including stores, distribution, transportation, purchasing, and other Home Office departments.
Ability to assist store receiving teams and distribution operations as needed.
Ability to work extended hours when necessary to support business and operational needs.
Ability to regularly and reliably meet attendance and scheduling expectations.
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds continuously, and carry materials up to 55 pounds for distances of up to 200 feet.
Ability to sit for extended periods, work at a computer, view a computer screen, and perform repetitive keyboarding and other office-related tasks.
Ability to bend, twist, squat, kneel, crawl, reach, climb stairs or ladders, and perform other physical activities associated with distribution and warehouse environments.
Ability to travel occasionally, approximately 10–20%.
