Data Engineer

ROLE SUMMARY Supports the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL workflows and reporting solutions under the guidance of senior data specialists.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and maintaining ETL scripts and workflows for data extraction, transformation and loading.
Writing and optimising SQL queries supporting reporting, dashboarding and data requests.
Assisting with dashboards, reports and business-intelligence data preparation.
Supporting data cleansing, standardisation and validation activities.
Monitoring scheduled data jobs and escalating issues where required.
Assisting with the validation and migration of business logic across data systems.
Documenting data processes, scripts and pipeline configurations.  Participating in testing and quality assurance of data-pipeline changes.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in ETL, Data Engineering or Data Analytics support.
Working knowledge of SQL and at least basic proficiency in Python.
Exposure to ETL/data-pipeline tools and BI/reporting platforms.
Good understanding of relational database concepts.
Strong attention to detail, communication skills and willingness to develop within a Data Engineering environment.
