Job Description
Esmera Global Solutions is seeking a Junior Data Engineer for a project-based assignment. The role supports the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL workflows and reporting solutions under the guidance of experienced data specialists.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will develop and maintain ETL scripts and workflows for data extraction, transformation and loading, and write and optimise SQL queries supporting reporting, dashboarding and data requests.
The role includes assisting with dashboards, reports and business-intelligence data preparation, supporting data cleansing, standardisation and validation activities, and monitoring scheduled data jobs with escalation of issues where required.
The candidate will assist with validation and migration of business logic across data systems, document data processes, scripts and pipeline configurations, and participate in testing and quality assurance of data-pipeline changes.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or a related discipline and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in ETL, Data Engineering or Data Analytics support.
Working knowledge of SQL and at least basic proficiency in Python are required, together with exposure to ETL or data-pipeline tools and BI or reporting platforms.
Candidates should have a good understanding of relational database concepts, strong attention to detail, good communication skills and a willingness to develop further within a Data Engineering environment.
