About The Role
The Senior Software Developer will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise application modernization efforts. This position involves working on complex legacy ASP.NET MVC applications and transitioning them toward modern .NET 8-based solutions. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a deep understanding of both legacy and modern development frameworks, and the ability to collaborate effectively within Agile/Scrum teams. This is a mostly remote position with a hybrid schedule, requiring onsite presence for equipment pickup and occasional meetings.
Qualifications
8+ years of professional software development experience delivering enterprise applications
5+ years of hands-on experience with ASP.NET MVC using .NET Framework 4.x
3+ years of hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core and modern .NET (.NET 6+ / .NET 8)
Proficiency in C# within layered or N-tier architectures
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
Strong knowledge of SQL Server, relational data modeling, and query optimization
Experience with Entity Framework 6 and Entity Framework Core
Proficiency in building Razor Views and Razor Components
Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery for legacy support
Experience with Blazor development
Experience implementing claims-based authentication and fine-grained authorization
Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps, Git, and Visual Studio 2022
Proven ability to work independently with minimal onboarding in complex codebases
Experience working in regulated environments is a plus
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain modern.NET 8 solutions utilizing ASP.NET Core Web APIs and Blazor (Server/WebAssembly)
Enhance and support existing legacy ASP.NET MVC applications built on .NET Framework 4.x
Create reusable Razor components, shared libraries, and scalable service layers for enterprise applications
Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces compliant with ADA and WCAG standards
Ensure seamless interoperability between new services and legacy systems
Participate actively in Agile/Scrum teams, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical reviews
Collaborate with architects and senior technical staff on design decisions and implementation strategies
Provide accurate effort estimates and deliver solutions within contractual deadlines
Develop API-based and file-based integrations with internal and third-party systems
Implement background processing using scheduled jobs, hosted services, and cloud-hosted solutions
Design, optimize, and maintain SQL Server schemas, queries, and stored procedures to support application needs
Implement data access layers using Entity Framework 6 and Entity Framework Core
Ensure data integrity, auditing, and compliance with data retention policies
Apply secure coding practices, including handling sensitive data and implementing authentication/authorization mechanisms
Implement logging, monitoring, and diagnostics using tools such as Application Insights
