Role Description As a Senior Web Developer at Future of Nation, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications that power our learning platform and digital experiences. This full-time hybrid role is based in Mumbai, with flexibility for partial work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and optimizing front-end interfaces, implementing secure and efficient back-end services, integrating third-party APIs, and ensuring responsive, accessible design across devices. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and content teams to translate educational and business requirements into robust technical solutions, review code, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions. The role also involves performance tuning, monitoring, and maintaining high standards of reliability, security, and user experience.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Web Development and Programming, with experience building and maintaining production-ready applications.
Candidates should possess advanced Front-End Development and Web Design skills, including responsive UI implementation and user-centric design practices.
Candidates should possess solid Back-End Web Development skills, including API design, data handling, and integration with databases and external services.
Candidates should possess proficiency with modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3), front-end frameworks (such as React, Vue, or Angular), and server-side languages or frameworks (such as Node.js, Django, or similar).
Candidates should possess experience with version control (Git), testing and debugging, and deployment workflows using cloud or hosting platforms.
Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams while mentoring less experienced developers.
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in edtech or mission-driven organizations is an advantage.
