Role Description The Principal Solutions Architect is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the design and implementation of end-to-end technology solutions that align with Orcas Capital’s strategic objectives and client needs. This role involves defining solution architectures, selecting appropriate technologies, and guiding integration across systems and platforms to support secure, compliant, and scalable operations. The Principal Solutions Architect will collaborate with consulting teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical designs, and ensure solutions support key business processes. Day-to-day activities include reviewing and improving existing architectures, mentoring development teams, creating technical documentation, and participating in client-facing discussions to present solution approaches and best practices. The role also requires continuous evaluation of emerging technologies and industry standards to enhance Orcas Capital’s service offerings.
Qualifications
Strong Solution Architecture and Integration skills, with experience designing secure, scalable, and compliant systems.
Consulting and Business Process expertise to translate organizational and client requirements into effective technical solutions.
Hands-on experience in Software Development, with the ability to guide engineering teams and review technical implementations.
Proficiency in mapping, optimizing, and automating business processes using modern platforms and tools.
Proven experience in an architect or senior technical leadership role, preferably in regulated or standards-driven environments.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional setting, with clear communication and documentation skills.
Knowledge of compliance, quality, or accreditation frameworks (e.g., ISO standards) is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
