Role Description The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Orcas Capital is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the overall information technology vision and strategy across the organization. The CIO will oversee IT operations, infrastructure, and systems, ensuring reliability, security, compliance, and alignment with business objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include directing IT management teams, defining and updating IT policies and standards, and guiding the selection, implementation, and optimization of technology platforms and tools. The CIO will collaborate closely with executive leadership to drive digital transformation, streamline business processes, manage IT budgets, and support data-driven decision-making. This role also involves monitoring technology risks, ensuring regulatory and cybersecurity compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IT function.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in core Information Technology domains, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and data management.
Proven experience in IT Operations, ensuring stable, secure, and high-performing systems and services.
Demonstrated IT Management capabilities, including leading multidisciplinary teams, vendor management, and budget oversight.
Expertise in IT Strategy and digital transformation, aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Experience in Business Process analysis and optimization, using technology to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CIO, ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are an advantage.
Background in regulated industries, quality systems, or compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO standards) is highly beneficial.
