Role Description The Chief Enterprise Architect is a full-time remote role responsible for defining and guiding the overall enterprise architecture strategy across Orcas Capital and its OCASUR division. This role oversees the alignment of business, application, solution, and technical architectures with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and long-term growth plans. Daily activities include collaborating with executive leadership to translate business objectives into architectural roadmaps, setting standards for design and integration, and providing governance for major technology initiatives. The Chief Enterprise Architect partners with cross-functional teams to evaluate and select platforms, ensures interoperability and scalability of systems, and leads architecture reviews for key projects. The role also involves mentoring architecture and engineering teams, documenting architectural patterns and principles, and monitoring emerging technologies relevant to compliance, quality management, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture skills, with experience designing integrated, large-scale systems and frameworks.
Candidates should possess Business Architecture skills, including the ability to model business capabilities, processes, and value streams aligned with strategic objectives.
Candidates should possess Application Architecture skills, with expertise in structuring applications, services, and data flows to support secure and efficient operations.
Candidates should possess Technical Architecture skills, covering infrastructure, cloud, security, and integration patterns within regulated or compliance-driven environments.
Extensive experience in an architecture leadership role, preferably at the enterprise level, guiding multi-year transformation initiatives.
Proficiency in common architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, or similar) and in producing clear architectural documentation and standards.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation abilities, with a track record of collaborating effectively with executive, business, and technical teams.
Demonstrated experience in regulated industries or organizations with rigorous quality and compliance requirements is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
