About The Role
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in prototyping, architecting, and building robust development, testing, and production infrastructure that supports Tecsys services. As part of the Infrastructure & Production Operations team, your primary focus will be on automation, infrastructure as code, and leveraging open-source tools to enhance our platform. Your role will involve designing scalable deployment solutions, automating processes, and ensuring the stability and security of our infrastructure. You will work closely with development teams to facilitate seamless deployment pipelines, monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects utilizing AI agents, cloud platforms, container orchestration, and automation tools, contributing significantly to Tecsys’s digital transformation journey.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 4+ years supporting high-volume, highly available Java/.NET production systems
At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms in a production environment
Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix, Bash scripting, and networking fundamentals
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS)
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible
Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure components including IAM, EC2, VPC, Load Balancing, and Autoscaling
Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, or similar tools
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, or Nagios
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of engaging effectively with clients, colleagues, and partners
Legal eligibility to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Canadian work permit)
Responsibilities
Design, build, and automate infrastructure deployments for clients and internal platforms
Create scalable deployment architectures, CI/CD workflows, and automation solutions across the entire platform lifecycle
Leverage AI agents such as Amazon Kiro to orchestrate and accelerate technical tasks, ensuring validation of results
Develop deployment logic, automated tests, and incident response playbooks to ensure system reliability
Manage cloud infrastructure including AWS and Azure, hybrid architectures, Kubernetes clusters, and container environments
Monitor platform stability, troubleshoot incidents, and participate in on-call support to maintain high availability
Collaborate with development teams to automate deployment processes and enhance infrastructure scalability
Plan and execute maintenance activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and technology upgrades
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously optimize infrastructure performance
