Role Description
The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading and scaling the engineering function across WOV’s portfolio and internal initiatives. This leader will oversee the design, development, and delivery of software solutions that support performance marketing, insurtech, and agentic AI capabilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting technical vision, managing engineering teams, defining and improving development processes, and collaborating closely with product, data, and business stakeholders to align technology with strategic goals. The role will guide architecture decisions, ensure high-quality and secure code, and drive continuous improvement in reliability, performance, and scalability. In addition, the Vice President of Engineering will recruit and mentor engineering talent, manage complex projects and timelines, and contribute to technical due diligence and value creation for venture investments.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management experience, including building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
Proven Team Leadership skills with the ability to create clarity, foster collaboration, and drive accountability across distributed teams.
Hands-on Software Development expertise with modern technologies, architectures, and best practices, especially in data-driven and AI-enabled systems.
Demonstrated Project Management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery in fast-paced environments.
Experience in Product Development, working closely with product and business partners to translate strategy into impactful technical solutions.
Background in or exposure to performance marketing, insurtech, or AI/ML products is highly beneficial.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Experience leading remote or distributed engineering teams and comfort with asynchronous collaboration tools and practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent practical experience is a plus.
