Role Description
The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading and scaling WOV’s engineering function across performance marketing, insurtech, and agentic AI initiatives. This role oversees the design, development, and delivery of software products and platforms, ensuring technical excellence, reliability, and security in support of client and internal ventures. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding engineering strategy, managing teams and technical leads, aligning product and engineering roadmaps, and collaborating closely with founders, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners. The Vice President of Engineering sets and enforces best practices in architecture, development, testing, and deployment, while driving continuous improvement, innovation, and measurable impact. This role is expected to build a high-performance engineering culture that thrives in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment and can operate effectively in a remote setup.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Engineering Management skills, including building and scaling teams, defining processes, and overseeing complex technical initiatives.
Candidates should possess Team Leadership abilities, such as mentoring engineers, fostering collaboration, and cultivating a high-performance, inclusive culture.
Candidates should possess Software Development expertise, with hands-on experience in modern architectures, cloud services, and best practices for secure, reliable systems.
Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery of multi-stakeholder programs on time and within scope.
Candidates should possess Product Development experience, partnering with product and business stakeholders to define roadmaps, translate requirements into technical solutions, and iterate based on data and feedback.
Experience leading engineering in fast-growth environments such as startups, insurtech, AI, or performance marketing is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence executive-level decisions.
Proven success in remote leadership, including managing distributed teams and implementing tools and practices for effective collaboration.
