Role Description
The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the engineering function across WOV’s products, platforms, and technology initiatives. This role oversees engineering strategy and execution, aligning technical roadmaps with business goals in performance marketing, insurtech, and agentic AI. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing and mentoring engineering managers and teams, setting clear priorities, and ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable software delivery. The VP of Engineering will collaborate closely with product, operations, and executive leadership to define requirements, allocate resources, and drive cross-functional projects to completion. The role also involves establishing best practices in architecture, development, testing, and deployment, while fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and measurable impact.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management experience, including building, scaling, and coaching high-performing engineering organizations.
Demonstrated Team Leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and retain diverse technical talent across remote teams.
Deep Software Development background, with hands-on experience in modern architectures, cloud platforms, and AI-driven or data-intensive systems.
Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Experience in Product Development, partnering with product and business leaders to translate strategy into executable technical roadmaps.
Proven track record in fast-moving, high-growth environments; experience in insurtech, performance marketing, or AI products is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills, with an ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent leadership experience is a plus.
