Vice President of Engineering

Role Description The Vice President of Engineering at PyMio is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the engineering organization, setting technical direction, and ensuring high-quality delivery of software products. This role oversees engineering teams, aligns technology initiatives with business goals, and collaborates closely with product, operations, and executive leadership. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding architectural decisions, managing project prioritization and execution, coaching and mentoring engineering leaders, and establishing best practices for software development, testing, security, and deployment. The Vice President of Engineering will also drive continuous improvement in processes and tools, support talent acquisition and retention, and maintain a culture of accountability, inclusion, and innovation across distributed teams.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience building, scaling, and supporting high-performing engineering organizations.
Hands-on background in Software Development, with proficiency in modern development practices, code quality standards, and system architecture.
Proven Project Management abilities, including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery of complex initiatives in collaborative environments.
Experience in Product Development, working closely with product management to translate business needs into technical solutions and roadmaps.
Demonstrated success leading remote or distributed engineering teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration across time zones.
Ability to define and implement engineering processes, including CI/CD, testing frameworks, security practices, and performance optimization.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a data-informed approach to evaluating trade-offs and managing risk.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in a senior engineering leadership role (e.g., Director, VP, or Head of Engineering) in a technology-driven organization.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
