Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the overall technology vision, strategy, and execution for Walk On Ventures and its portfolio initiatives in performance marketing, insurtech, and agentic AI. This full-time remote role involves overseeing technology architecture, guiding software and product development, and ensuring that technology investments align with business objectives and long-term enterprise value creation. The CTO will collaborate closely with founders, executive teams, and internal stakeholders to evaluate technical opportunities, design scalable solutions, and improve technology-enabled operating leverage. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing development roadmaps, supervising technical teams or partners, establishing best practices for security and reliability, and identifying emerging technologies that can drive growth. The CTO will also contribute to strategic advisory engagements, support due diligence for venture investments, and help engineer results that materially impact client outcomes.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development and Product Development, including experience building scalable, reliable, and secure applications and platforms.
Candidates should possess proven Project Management skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver complex technology projects on time and within scope.
Candidates should possess demonstrated IT Strategy and Technology Architecture skills, with experience defining technology roadmaps, selecting platforms, and designing systems that support rapid growth.
Candidates should possess a track record of leading technical organizations or teams, mentoring engineering talent, and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Extensive experience in high-growth environments, preferably in insurtech, performance marketing, AI, or related sectors.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and to influence strategic decisions at the executive and board levels.
Experience working in remote or distributed teams, with strong collaboration, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
