Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the technology vision and execution across Walk On Ventures’ advisory and venture portfolio, with a particular focus on agentic AI, performance marketing technology, and insurtech platforms. This full-time remote role is responsible for defining technical strategy, owning the architecture of core systems, and overseeing the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding software and product development teams, evaluating and integrating emerging technologies, and collaborating with founders and executive teams to align technical roadmaps with business objectives. The CTO will establish best practices for engineering, drive project execution, and ensure technology investments support growth, innovation, and measurable outcomes. The role also includes mentoring technical leaders, managing vendor and partner relationships, and contributing to technical due diligence on potential investments.
Qualifications
Strong background in Software Development and Product Development, with experience building and scaling modern, cloud-based applications and AI-driven solutions.
Proficiency in IT Strategy and Architecture, including designing robust, secure, and scalable systems that align with business and portfolio company objectives.
Demonstrated Project Management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, prioritize initiatives, and deliver complex technology projects on time.
Experience working in or with high-growth environments, ideally within performance marketing, insurtech, AI, or venture-backed companies.
Proven leadership capabilities, including mentoring technical teams, influencing executive stakeholders, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Deep familiarity with modern engineering practices (DevOps, CI/CD, security by design, data privacy) and cloud platforms.
Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced, outcome-oriented environment and work effectively across multiple companies and projects.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
