Lead Compliance Risk Manager, Product Compliance - AI

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Compliance Risk Manager, Product Compliance - AI to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will own compliance risk guidance for AI-enabled products in a highly regulated environment, helping shape launch readiness and ongoing oversight. You will partner closely with product, engineering, legal, and risk stakeholders to translate evolving regulatory expectations into practical controls. The position requires strong technical fluency, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate novel compliance challenges as the organization expands its AI capabilities.
You will also help strengthen policy standards, support remediation efforts, and mentor compliance colleagues across the business.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $187,000 – $233,800 annually
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary compliance advisor for AI products
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI products meet regulatory obligations
Stay current on regulations and implement necessary compliance updates
Define compliance requirements for new product launches and expansions
Drive remediation efforts for compliance issues within your scope
Support policy development and documentation standards for compliance
Mentor compliance colleagues and foster a culture of compliance across the organization
Qualifications
8+ years in compliance advisory or regulatory risk, preferably in fintech or financial services
Experience with AI, machine learning, or model-driven products in regulated environments
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to AI in banking, including UDAAP and BSA/AML
Familiarity with emerging AI-specific regulations and frameworks like NIST AI Risk Management
Technical fluency to engage with engineers on model behavior and risk assessment
Proven ability to manage large-scale compliance challenges without precedent
Strong project management skills with a focus on high-impact initiatives
