Principal Software Engineer, Core Engine

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Core Engine to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will shape the technical direction of a core software engine, with a strong emphasis on runtime performance, language interoperability, and toolchain integration. You will partner closely with engineers, product stakeholders, and support-facing teams to translate long-term vision into practical technical execution. The position also calls for broad cross-functional communication, using data and user feedback to guide decisions that improve developer experience and platform effectiveness.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $179,500 – $341,900 annually
Responsibilities
Ensure timely delivery of C#/.NET integration, including JIT and AOT toolchains
Drive technical leadership and define a long-term vision for the engine
Design and communicate metrics to guide resource decisions
Engage with technical and non-technical audiences about team plans
Provide user feedback and solutions through support channels
Guide team member development and effectiveness
Advocate best practices for developers and end users
Qualifications
Deep expertise in C# and C++ programming languages
Strong knowledge of compiler toolchain technology
Solid understanding of hardware architecture
Experience in game engine development, especially with proprietary engines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for global collaboration
